I thoroughly enjoyed this article. Don was my mother's cousin. I grew up seeing photos of he and is sister Bernice as toddlers, hearing about their early days in Lander and later years as he left home to explore his world. Thank you for the photos and the well written article!
I found your article on Prospectors very endearing. I too believe that those who are making the laws to "protect" us are the worst hypocrites. Don't protect me, don't provide for me but damn it don't stock me from going it alone. I respect our founders and I admire those who when backed into a corner walked across this great country and into the Alaskan wild. I too will follow in those footsteps. Godspeed.
